$15 Summer Tween Wardrobe

My 12 year old needed summer clothes badly!!!!! "Like, right now mom!"
Not sure why this was soooo important since you know.....it's been raining or snowing non-stop for 8 months but I never say no to a trip to the thrift store.

Yes. You can get kewl clothes at your local Goodwill. There are actually a lot of name brand clothing on the racks that your tween will love.

So, Rebecca said she wanted "Shirts with sayings on them and some shoes."

Were we able to find what she wanted for a reasonable price?

You Betcha! (See...I can fit in with the locals.)

4 shirts with "sayings"
1 dress
2 pairs of shorts
and 3 pairs of shoes New w/ tags!

For only $15!!!

I had one very happy tween on my hands! :-)
Her shirts say:
"I'm out of bed, what more do you want?"
"I didn't do it."
"Dear Dorothy, Hate Oz, Took the shoes, Find your own way home!" (Which she is thinking of wearing the next time we go to the Judy Garland museum.)
And "Don't Bug Me"

What's really neat is that the bug me shirt is from.....Holywood!!!!!!!!
Why is that so special?

Because it's where I was BORN!

Yup, I was born in Hollywood and Pat Boone delivered me.
(Granted it was Hollywood FL (not CA), and it was a midwife named Pat Boone but it’s still a good conversation starter.)

Anyway, yay for a happy tween!

  1. Have you ever checked out Shopgoodwill.com? I love that site and buy frequently. I also visit our local Salvation Army Store. I drop off donations at one end of the building and come out with a couple of bags from the store. Since I have gone from a size 10 to a 6 and on my way to a 4, I can't afford to keep buying new clothes, so it works out well. When I'm done with the clothes, I just re-donate them!

  2. I don't really like to buy online that much, I have to try clothes on and I like to touch before I buy anything else. lol

That's great that you are doing so well on the P90X, I hope I have as good results as you are!

  3. Hi Mary,
I was actually looking forward to another post from you about P90X. Hope it's going well for you. I confess, my weight loss is mostly due to using a mini stepper. It took about 5 months for me to lose 15 pounds. When nobody noticed, I got the P90X to help me get toned, which it's doing.
    :D
